Ridlington: St Peter, Ridlington

About our church
We have a Perpendicular Period Tower. The Chancel roof is thatched but the nave roof is in slate. In World War I a Zeppelin dropped four bombs in the area one of which blew out the east end of the church. Two bells were sold in 1792 for £29.10/6d. The Tower has been repaired as has the chancel and the church is quiet and very lovely and is mostly unspoilt. The churchyard is well kept and although on the main road is quiet and in summer is a haven. The village close by is a quiet hamlet and well worth a visit. The gates to the porch have been redone and are very attractive.
